Malayalam music composer Ramesh Narayan is currently under flack for his behavior with actor Asif Ali in the trailer launch of the upcoming anthology series Manorathangal, where the music composer refused to get the award from Asif. The video of the incident has gone viral and sparked widespread criticism for what netizens describe as “disrespectful behavior.”
The trailer launch of the anthology series, Manorathangal took place in Kochi yesterday. Paying tribute to the Jnanpith Award-winning writer MT Vasudevan Nair, the event took place on his 91st birthday.
However, a controversy has erupted after Asif Ali descended from the stage to present a memento to the music composer who ignored Asif Ali, and insisted that director Jayaraj present the award.

Even though Asif was ignored, the actor patiently moved away for the director. The video soon went viral on the internet and netizens called out the music composer for his rude behavior and praised Asif’s for his patient demeanor during the awkward moment.
An X user wrote, “Ramesh Narayan refuses to take award from Asif Ali. Very poor etiquette from him. Asif kept his happy demeanor despite the snub.” The incident soon led to many digging down Ramesh’s past behaviors and comments over other celebrities leading to a severe backlash against the music composer.

And yet there has been no official comment from Ramesh Narayan or Asif Ali in this regard. Ramesh scored music for the Swargam Thurakkunna Samayam, directed by Jayaraj Nair.
