Am anthology of nine films with the vision of nine directors enacted by an ensemble cast of legendary and contemporary actors giving life to the scripted pages of the legend MT Vasudevan Nair, here comes the trailer of the anthology series Manorathangal.
After three long years of making, the trailer of Manorathangal was unveiled by the makers yesterday as a tribute to the legendary writer on his birthday. The 106-second trailer gives glimpses of the various stories unveiling the characters, each with different shades, piquing the curiosity of the audience to know more about their stories. Manorathangal will premiere on ZEE5 on August 15.

The trailer opens with actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan introducing the Jnanpith Award-winning author and screenwriter-director’s legacy. As the trailer progresses through introducing the characters, it provides glimpses of each story. Each story is different with individual backdrop settings, and shades of each unique story like cool, tinted, monochromatic sequences and more.
With the stars of Mollywood, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Fassil, and Parvathy Thirvothu, Manorathangal holds much more than what meets the eye. The trailer also showcases Mohanlal’s part in a monochromatic screenplay, Mammooty’s description of war with the Sri Lankan flag waving in the backdrop, and Fahad’s story rooted in America. The trailers spill descriptions, yet conceal the mysteries.

In addition to the above cast, the film also stars Asif Ali, Biju Menon, Shanthi Krishna, Madhoo, Nadiya Moidu, Indrans, (late) Nedumudi Venu, Surabhi Lakshmi, Siddique, Indrajith Sukumaran and Aparna Balamurali in key roles. As per the trailer, Kamal Haasan is also associated with the project.
Manorathangal offers nine films each directed by a prominent filmmakers: Ollavum Theeravum (Priyadarshan), Kadugannava Oru Yathra (Ranjith), Kazhcha (Shyamaprasad), Shilalikhatam (Priyadarshan), Vilpana (Aswathy V Nair), Sherlock (Mahesh Narayanan), Swargam Thurakkuna Samayam (Jayarajan Nair), Abhyam Theedi Vendum (Santosh Sivan ASC, ISC), and Kadalkkattu (Rathish Ambat).
