In the era of cherishing old movies, which brings back the nostalgic feeling through theatrical re-release, here comes the mystery horror of Mohanlal, the 2000-released Devadhoothan, which is on the lane to greet the audience as the digitally remastered 4K Dolby Atmos version.

On Sunday, actor Mohanlal and director Sibi Malayil unveiled a huge surprise to the fans through their social media post announcing the re-release of his mystery horror Devadhoothan. 

Interestingly, the movie will be an additional treat to the audience with its 4K quality version, with sound mixing and enhanced viewing experience for audiences.

Actor Mohanlal on announcing this exciting update shared the movie poster with the phrase “Somebody wants to say something to someone’ as he wrote “Devadhoothan 4K Coming Soon!”

Devadhoothan, the Malayalam mystery horror film greeted the theaters as a Christmas release on 22nd December 2000, despite being financially disappointing at the box office the film received a positive critical reception. But over the years, the movie accumulated a cult status among the Mollywood. Back then the movie also won several  Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic ValueBest Music Director, and Best Costume Designer.

Helmed by Sibi Malayil, ‘Devadhoothan’ is written by a veteran Raghunath Paleri. The film stars Mohanlal in the title role with Jaya Prada, Vijayalakshmi, Janardhanan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Murali, Sarath Das, and Vineeth Kumar in supporting roles. The cinematography was done by Santosh Thundiyil and it features original songs and a score composed by Vidyasagar.
