With full-fledged rescue operations progressing on the sites of the Wayanad landslide, which wreaked havoc in Meppadi, Mundakkai, and Chooralmala, several hands were extended to offer possible help to safeguard the affected people. And now actress Nikhila Vimal has also joined the relief material collection in her home district Kannur and a video of the same is viral.

The Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil actress has extended her contribution to the rescue measures, as the actress has volunteered herself in the relief material collection team. The actress hails from Kannur and was volunteering at the collection center at Taliparamba taluk. The video of the actress working with the team has been shared on the official Facebook handle of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).

Reacting to the disaster various actors and celebrities have been offering help to the rescue measures by volunteering themselves in the actions as well as through raising awareness on social media. People have been appreciating the actress’s efforts.

In regards to tragedy, the death toll has risen to 158, with many injured and still trapped. The rescue team has been facing issues since the hamlet of Mundakkai was flattened following a landslide, to cut into the collapsed houses, teams require heavy equipment, and currently, they are not in a position to transfer it across the river, as per the reports.
