Zomato Introduces Order Scheduling

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal on Saturday shared an update with the customers. The latest update from the food delivery aggregator is order scheduling.

With this latest feature from Zomato, customers can now plan their meals better by placing an order up to 2 days in advance, and the food delivery plan is offering to deliver right on time. Currently, scheduling is available for orders above Rs 1,000, at around 13,000 outlets across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur.

“These restaurants historically, have high quantities of dishes in stock and have shown kitchen-preparation-time consistency. More restaurants and cities are being added. We will soon extend this for all orders,” Mr Goyal said in an X post.

The restaurant aggregator had last week rolled out another update, the Group Ordering feature, allowing users to share a link with others, enabling them to add items to the cart, thus easing the process of food ordering together with family, friends, and colleagues.

In April this year, the platform introduced another feature, calling it India’s “first large order fleet” for big orders, which is designed to handle all the large orders for groups, parties, or events with ease.

During the latest financial year, Zomato has recorded nearly 29 percent growth in July, marking a significant leap compared to rival Swiggy. The company has also declared to expand more in the coming years, noting the ever-increasing potential in the food delivery business.
