16-Year-Old girl Died By Suicide After Being Raped By School Teacher In RajasthanA 16-year-old girl from Jalore district of Rajasthan died by suicide on Friday, after two months of distress since she was raped by a government school teacher in October 2023, Hindustan Times reported.
Police today (Saturday) said that the girl’s body was recovered from her room on Friday, after the family informed the police. The girl’s family said to police that she was not capable to overcome the deep trauma of the rape she underwent last year and had been going through distressing suffering.
The accused in the rape of the minor girl was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) and is currently in jail, according to the assistant sub-inspector Pratap Singh.
Describing the incident, Pratap Singh said that the girl was raped after being abducted from Bhinmal town in Jalore district and the rapist was a school teacher the girl met at an examination centre.
“On October 22 last year, the accused abducted the girl from Bhinmal town in Jalore district and raped her. She was later recovered by the police from Barmer district, and the accused was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. He is currently in jail,” the assistant sub-inspector said.
