1800 Special Guests From Across The Country To Attend Independence Day Celebrations

Fifty nurses from across the country with their families have been invited as special guests to attend the 76th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in New Delhi.

1800 special guests from various walks of life will also be part of the celebrations on 15 August. It includes people like Sarpanches (the head of the village), teachers, farmers, and fishermen.

The nurses and their families are invited as the special guests to witness and participate in the celebrations.

The invitation is “in recognition of our efforts during Covid”, said Anita Tomar, the Nursing Officer in Delhi. 

“On behalf of the entire nursing community, I would like to thank PM Modi and the Government of India from the bottom of my heart”, she added in gratitude.

“I express my regards to the government for recognizing our efforts and dedication during Covid. I also want to thank the government for its pro-nurse”s attitude that it has shown through various development schemes”, said Vandana Kaushik, another Nursing Officer from Safdarjung Hospital.

The initiative to invite people from all walks of life, across India, is part of the Union governments vision of “Jan Bhagidari”.

The 1800 special guests include, 400 Sarpanches from more than 660 vibrant villages; 250 members from Farmer Producer Organisations scheme; 50 participants each of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme & Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana; 50 Shram Yogis (construction workers) of the Central Vista Project, including the New Parliament Building; 50 each Khadi workers, those involved in construction of border roads, making of Amrit Sarovar& Har Ghar Jal Yojana as well as 50 primary school teachers, nurses and fishermen each.
