Amit Shah highlighted that no single organisation or institution can secure cyberspace on its own but all the stakeholders must come together on a common platform and make concerted efforts unanimously. He also unveiled the Samanvaya platform which is a joint cybercrime investigation facilitation system.
What is 14C?
Since its establishment on October 5, 2018, the major goal of 14C has to to address cyber threats and dwindle cyber-related issues across the country. This will also help to enhance the capabilities of LEAs and is aimed at improving the communication and coordination among the stakeholders who deal with cyber threats and other related issues.
The Central Government has launched Cybercrime Reporting Portal in 2019 to enable citizens to report online content about Child Pornography (CP)/ Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or sexually explicit content such as Rape/Gang Rape (CP/RGR). This is to spread awareness of cybercrime, issue cyber-related alerts/ advisories, capacity building/ training of law enforcement officers/ judges/ prosecutors that also improve cyber forensics facilities and to prevent cybercrime and expedite investigations.
