A clash erupted between two groups at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) late last night and left several students injured. The confrontation occurred between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Left-affiliated groups. The incident reportedly ignited over the selection of election committee members at the School of Languages for the upcoming student organisation elections.
An official of the university said some students have been admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital, reported PTI. Both groups have lodged complaints against each other regarding the incident.
In a video circulated on social media platform X, a man can be seen attacking students with a stick, while another person is seen throwing a bicycle at students. In other videos, individuals were seen mobbed and beaten by a group, even though the university security personnel attempted to intervene.
