After Karwa Chauth Fast, UP Woman Kills Husband By Poisoning Him

As married couples celebrate Karwa Chauth by keeping fast for the long lives of their partners, a bizarre case has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh. Merely hours after ending her Karwa Chauth fast, a woman allegedly killed her husband by poisoning him in Ismailpur village.

A 32-year-old Shailesh Kumar was poisoned by his wife Savita because she suspected him of having an affair with another woman, according to officials from the Kada Dham police station in Kaushambi district.

The police officials stated that Savita had been fasting for the long life of her husband on the occasion of Karwa Chauth on Sunday, while Shailesh had been busy making arrangements for the ritual since morning.

Things changed in the evening when Savita was breaking her fast and had an argument with her husband. Things went back to normal as the couple ate together and broke the fast. Savita then asked Shailesh to go to their neighbour’s house to get something before she fled.

His brother, Akhilesh, rushed Shailesh to the hospital; however, he died during treatment. Before his death, he made a declaration in a video stating that his wife had poisoned his food.
