Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu: The Mahila Court in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu will convicted the all the nine accused in the Pollachi Sexual Assault Case on Tuesday, May 13. Justice R. Nandhinidevi, who handled the trial from the beginning delivered the judgement in the case and the quantum of the sentence is expected later today.

The nine men were accused in the six-year-old case for blackmailing, sexually assaulting, and videographing young girls, and they have remained behind bars since their arrest.

N. Sabarirajan (32), aka Rishwanth; K. Thirunavukkarasu (34); M. Sathish (33), and T. Vasanthakumar (30); R. Mani aka Manivannan (32); P. Babu (33); T. Haronimus Paul (32); K. Arulanantham (39); and M. Arunkumar (33) are the nine accused in the case.

The sexual assault case unfurled as a 19-year-old college student filed the first complainant in the the Pollachi town east police on February 24, 2019 alleging sexual abuse by four men in a moving car near Pollachi. Following the probe, they came across several videos of sexual assault on the laptop and mobile phone of perpetrators. Through the evidence of these, the police and the CBI identified the other accused and survivors.

A total of eight women, including the first complainant have given statements against the accused. The CBI who took up the case later booked the nine accused on multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, sexual harassment, rape, gang-rape, repeated rape of the same woman and blackmailing the victims for sexual favours. The sexual assault took place between 2016 and 2018.
