The aircraft c-130J of Bangladesh Air Force took off from the Hindon Air Force of India, On Monday morning around 9 am IST, said media report. The aircraft is currently moving towards its next destination, and Indian security agencies are monitoring the situation closely.

According to Business Standard, the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not on board the aircraft that took off from the Hindson air base. The report said that the aircraft is flying with 7 military personnel in it towards its base in Bangladesh.

Hasina has arrived in India on Monday evening after resigning from her position as Prime Minister. It is not clear if Sheikh Hasina will continue to stay in Delhi or move to another location later.

At the same time, External Minister S Jaishankar chaired an all-party meeting in the Parliament, briefing the leaders about the ongoing issues in Dhaka. The minister briefed the leaders on how the issue had spread in Bangladesh and the current situation in the country.

He spoke about Hasina’s move to India, and how India would take care of her, reported ANI. He said the Indian government wants to give her time to let the Indian government know what her future course of action would be.

Taking to his X account, Jaishankar said, “Briefed an All-Party meeting in Parliament today about the ongoing developments in Bangladesh. Appreciate the unanimous support and understanding that was extended”.

 

The minister has told that the union government was in touch with the Bangladesh Army as well. He said that it is a prevailing situation and the government will take appropriate action at the right time, reported Business Standard.

Reportedly, there are some 20,000 Indian nationals in Bangladesh, and so far 8000 nationals have come back to India. Jaishankar said the Indian government is in touch with Indian nationals and High Commission in Bangladesh continues to operate. Sources from the all-party meeting told Business Standard that the focus is on protecting the minorities.

Dhaka was plunged in crisis when protests against a controversial government job quota, has led to significant unrest across the country, with reports of nearly 300 death, mainly among protesters. The demonstrations, initially sparked by opposition to reserving government jobs for families of veterans from the 1971 war of independence, quickly evolved into widespread violence. The situation ultimately forced Hasina to resign and flee to India.
