New Delhi: Supreme Court recently refused the petition to extend the deadline for uploading Waqf property details on the UMEED Portal, stating that 5 December 2025 remains the final date.

The Minister of Minority Affairs Kiran Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday, said he received several requests from Waqf Boards and stakeholders seeking an extension. The minister had said that the UMEED Act provides a clear remedial mechanism, stakeholders may approach the Waqf Tribunal as prescribed under the law for any grievance or issue related to Waqf properties.

“The Ministry remains committed to transparency, accountability, and strengthening Waqf management across the country,” he added. Notably, there are now several complaints complaints about intermittent issues with the Umeed portal since the last couple of days. Sharing people’s concern on social media, fact-checker Zubair said that people are not able to open the Umeed portal.

“People are not able to register to the Umeed portal. ( Registration OTPs not being received), and Registered users are not able to submit details because of Umeed portal UI issues,” he pointed out.
