Delhi Airport Says Flights Running Normally After Pakistan Ceasefire Violation

New Delhi: Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) has issued a travel advisory urging passengers to be prepared for longer security checks and possible flight delays.

While operations at Delhi Airport continue smoothly for now, authorities have increased vigilance following reported ceasefire violations by Pakistan and evolving airspace conditions.

The advisory comes after Pakistan reportedly violated a recently declared ceasefire on May 10, with drones spotted in Jammu and explosions heard in some regions. Though no fresh firing has been reported since, security agencies remain on high alert.

To maintain safety and ensure smooth passenger flow, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has directed all airports to implement enhanced security protocols. As a result, travellers flying out of Delhi are being advised to arrive early and stay updated through official airline channels and the airport’s website.

Key Points from the Delhi Airport Advisory:

  • Arrive early: Due to stricter security checks, passengers should reach the airport well in advance of their flight.

  • Follow baggage rules: Be extra careful with hand baggage and checked luggage as regulations will be strictly enforced.

  • Stay informed: Check your flight status regularly through the airline’s website or the official Delhi Airport site.

  • Avoid misinformation: Only trust verified sources and refrain from forwarding unconfirmed news on social media.

  • Cooperate with authorities: Follow instructions from security and airline staff for a hassle-free journey.

Despite the situation, Delhi Airport has confirmed that its operations are running as scheduled and it is working closely with all stakeholders to ensure passenger safety.

These closures are a direct response to potential threats and changing airspace regulations in the region. Flight rescheduling and rerouting are being coordinated to minimize disruption.
