The gifts and mementos received by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi are on e-auction at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi. The event is organised by Ministry of Culture, Government of India and it started on October 2. Currently, e-auction is in its fifth round and will conclude on October 31. Some of the items for sale include a painting of Banaras Ghat, a statue of Ram Darbar, a souvenir of Jerusalem, and a memento of Kamdhenu with a calf.
Prime Minister Modi, wrote on X that he is “truly elated” by the response to the event, and requested everyone to join in for the bid.

The funds generated via auction will go to the Namami Ganga project, an initiative by the Union government to protect and restore the river Ganga and improve its delicate ecosystem.
Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi gave press briiefing about the event on Monday; she said: “The programme started on October 2, there is time until October 31. A short span of time is left, we expect that no serious buyer is left out and we can prompt a good collection. I want to request all the citizens of the country to make their bids on these pieces and become their rightful owners in these last few days,” reports ANI.
Minister said that in the previous 4 editions, more than 7,0000 items have been put on the event and at present, there are 912 items up for sale.
The auction programme conducted since Mr Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, and used to coordinated under “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” Programme.
