Epstein Files, Case Against Adani… US Pressure On PM Modi: Rahul Gandhi On Trade Deal
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Narendra Modi government over the recently announced India–United States trade deal, alleging that the Prime Minister had “compromised” India’s interests under external pressure.
Speaking to reporters inside the Parliament complex after repeated adjournments of the Lok Sabha amid Opposition protests, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the agreement was signed not in India’s interest but due to “immense pressure” on the Prime Minister.
According to Rahul Gandhi, the trade deal, which had remained stalled for several months, was suddenly cleared despite no significant changes.

He alleged that Prime Minister Modi had “sold out” Indian farmers and weakened the country’s economic position through the agreement.
“The deal was stuck for four months. Nothing changed. Yet it was signed suddenly. There is a reason that only the Prime Minister and I know,” Rahul Gandhi said, adding that PM Modi is under serious pressure and fears that his carefully built public image could collapse.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha further claimed that he was not allowed to speak in Parliament because the Prime Minister is afraid of what he might reveal.
He said that this was the first time in parliamentary history that the Leader of the Opposition was denied the opportunity to speak during the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address.
He alleged that the Prime Minister was deliberately blocking discussion on sensitive issues, including former Army chief M.M. Naravane’s unpublished memoir on the 2020 India-China standoff, the Epstein files, and India’s surrender on tariffs under the trade deal.

Rahul Gandhi pointed to two major “pressure points” that he said were influencing the Prime Minister’s decisions.

The first, he claimed, was the ongoing legal case against industrialist Gautam Adani in the United States. Gandhi alleged that the case was not just about Adani but about the financial structure linked to the BJP and the Prime Minister himself.
The second issue, according to Gandhi, involved the Epstein files. He claimed that more information related to the Epstein case exists and has not yet been made public by U.S. authorities, and that this, too was contributing to pressure on the Indian leadership.
“The Prime Minister is scared. The people who built his image are now trying to unravel it,” Gandhi said, alleging that the trade deal was a result of this vulnerability. He claimed that the agreement sacrifices the interests of Indian farmers and workers, and that the country as a whole had been “sold out.”
Meanwhile, tensions in Parliament escalated further as eight Congress MPs were suspended from the Lok Sabha for the remainder of the Budget Session.
The suspensions followed sloganeering and protests in the Well of the House. Those suspended include Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Gurdeep Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Prashant Padole, Kiran Kumar Reddy, S. Venkataraman and Manickam Tagore.
