Dahod, Gujarat: A Devgadh Baria municipal fire tender was dispatched to clean the bungalow of BJP MLA Bachubhai Khabad in Pipero, sparking public outrage. The incident happened in Gujarat’s Dahod district.

Critics pointed out the local water shortages where residents get supply only every two days, slamming the MLA for using the municipal fir tender to wash his house.

Officials clarified the incident as a suspected hoax request from the MLA’s side. The officials said they halted the operation  quickly, and charged Rs 2,700 after videos spread, which went viral on social media, sparking outrage among the public.

Gujarat Congress demanded an investigation into the logbook and rules violation, while the sole tender’s use raises concerns over straining public safety resources in a drought-hit area.

Several users on X slammed the MLA for misusing power. One user on X, Srinivasa R Velamala, observed that Rs 2700 is very cheap for cleaning the outside entire building. He asked, “Can firbrigade team clean all buildings with that price? Politicians are biggest culprits of the nation?”

“They misuse the power and make more money than anyone. ED or CBI only catches opposition leaders” he wrote.
