“Haryana BJP Government Is Also Responsible For The Death Of Aryan, Sabir, Naseer, Junaid”: Owaisi

Following the murder of a 19-year-old boy after he was mistaken for a cattle smuggler in Haryana’s Faridabad, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi attacked the BJP-ruled Haryana government led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and his stance on cow vigilantism. Recently, Saini argued that the term “mob lynching” was not appropriate, pointing at Haryana’s strict cow protection laws.

Aryan Mishra, a Class 12 student, was attacked by the accused, identified as cow vigilantes, while the teenager was out with his friends in a Duster car on August 23 at midnight. The accused reportedly told the police during interrogation that they had received information that some cow smugglers were conducting surveillance in the area in Duster and Fortuner SUVs.

After chasing the teenager for about 25 kilometres before shooting at the Duster, killing Aryan. The attackers approached the vehicle and shot again, aiming at the teenager’s chest.

All five accused—Anil Kaushik, Saurabh, Krishna, Adesh, and Varun—have been arrested for the case of mob lynching so far.

“In Haryana, Gau Rakshaks shot and killed Aryan Mishra, a 12th class student, mistaking him to be a Muslim. A few days ago, Nayab Saini clarified his government’s policy, he had said that who could have stopped the terror happening in the name of cow protection. The BJP government of Haryana is also responsible for the deaths of Aryan, Sabir, Naseer, and Junaid,” said the Member of Parliament.

Owaisi referred to a similar incident on August 27 when a migrant worker from West Bengal was allegedly beaten to death by a cow vigilante group in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri district over suspicion that he had consumed beef. The deceased, identified as Sabir Malik, was called to a shop on false pretexts when the accused allegedly beat him to death. Seven people, including two minors, have been arrested for the incident.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, reacting to the “unfortunate” incident, said cows were respected in the state. “Mob lynching is not a right thing. But there is great respect for cows and at times, people of the village react when such an input comes. But I stress that such incidents of lynching are unfortunate and should not happen,” he said, as quoted by India Today.
