BJP Leader Slams DMK MP’s Comment On Bihar, UP Migrants (Photo on X - Syed Shahnawaz Hussain @ShahnawazBJP)
BJP leader and national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain responded to the DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran’s comment on UP and Bihar migrants. The DMK’s Dayanidhi had allegedly said that the Hindi-speaking people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are coming to Tamil Nadu and doing menial jobs such as construction work, and toilet cleaning. However, in response to the comment on the Bihar and UP migrants, the BJP leader Shahnawaz said in a video shared by the Press Trust Of India (PTI): “DMK leader”s comments on people from UP and Bihar are inappropriate. INDI alliance has been insulting the people from these states. They (INDIA alliance) will soon be going to face the consequences.”

The BJP”s reaction was in response to a video clip, originally from 2019, resurfaced on social media and went viral.The fresh flame of the North vs South discourse met with strong criticism from the BJP leaders. Shahanawaz also asked the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his opinion about the DMK leader’s comment on the Bihar and UP people.
DMK is part of the INDIA bloc which also includes JD(U), RJD and Samajwadi party. These are the main political parties in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Asking Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and other leaders who are part of the INDIA alliance about the DMK leader’s comment, Bihar BJP MP Giriraj Singh took to X (formerly Twitter) saying: “Do Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav agree with their coalition partner”s opinion on Hindi-speaking people? They should clarify why DMK and INDIA block have so much hatred against Hindi-speaking people.”

However, according to reports by The Hindustan Times, Dayanidhi’s words “This is what happens when one learns only Hindi” is a comparison of people who learn English and get good jobs and people who only learn Hindi end up in cleaning jobs.
The BJP leader also reminded the comment of the Telangana chief minister, which he made before he assumed power as chief minister, triggering the North-south debate, The Telangana chief minister had said that the Telangana DNA was better than Bihar DNA.
BJP leaders had slammed the Telangana chief minister for his DNA comment and demanded the Congress party and the INDIA alliance to condemn his comment and ask for an apology.
