Mailardevpally, Hyderabad: An auto-rickshaw driver was allegedly murdered in Alinagar under Mailardevpally police station limits late on Wednesday night, September 2. The deceased driver, Abdul Rauf, was  a resident of Jahangirabad.

The incident has sparked fears among the locals in the area. Rauf was attacked by two to three persons. Suffering the assault, the victim died on the spot, according to the reports.

Police have formed a special team to identify and arrest the accused. The team is examining evidence from the spot. The motive behind the murder is not yet known, according to  S. Sreenivas, DCP (Rajendranagar).

Police are also investigating another murder reported near Palcheruvu in the same police limits, which happened in the early hours of Wednesday. Officials are investigating both cases, adding that clarity will be made on both the case soon.
