Amid attacks on Jammu, the Indian Air Defence shot down Pakistan’s F-16 aircraft as India thwarted another attack. Eight Pakistani missiles were intercepted by the S-400 air defence system over Jammu Civil Airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and nearby areas. India witnessed simultaneous attacks by Pakistan on several locations in Jammu, including the airport, Jaisalmer, and Punjab.

One of the intercepted drones struck the Jammu Civil Airport, prompting the Indian Air Force to scramble fighter jets. The air defence grid was swiftly activated, successfully neutralising the incoming threats.

Two Pakistani drones were downed near Jammu University, according to India Today.

While Pakistani drones were intercepted in Jaisalmer, two Kamikaze drones were also shot down in Poonch.

Sirens were heard across Jammu as defence forces intercepted the incoming threats and returned fire. A complete blackout was also enforced in Jammu.

Pakistani troops have also resorted to shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Samba, and Uri districts of Jammu and Kashmir late on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals has been called off midway as Dharamsala went dark. As players were rushed out, officials requested fans to clear the stadiums.

The Indian Armed Forces are said to be on high alert and retaliating with precision strikes under the ongoing Operation Sindoor.

The escalation came less than 48 hours after India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
