Mob Stops Muslim Couple, Forces Man To Apply Sindoor To Wife In Bihar's Nawada
Nawada, Bihar: Local mob allegedly harassed a Muslim couple in Bihar’s Nawada district, with goons stopping the couple, forcing the boy to apply Sindoor to the woman’s forehead while chanting Jai Bajrang Bali.
The footage has been shared online, sparking debate regarding the minorities’ safety in the public. According to the police, the couple belonged to the same community. The woman was also forced to remove face veil to apply Sindoor. The police have registered an FIR and arrested several accused in the case.
The woman repeatedly pleaded with the group to stop harassing her as they filmed the incident on their mobile phones. Despite her appeals, members of the group allegedly removed her face veil while recording the encounter.
The couple were reportedly followed for some distance while the group continued recording videos. The footage triggered widespread reactions on social media, with several users claiming that the incident involved individuals from different religious communities. These claims were widely shared before police completed their investigation.
