A one-month-old infant, Alisba, allegedly died during a police raid in Alwar district of Rajasthan on Sunday morning. The police officer who had come for the raid reportedly crushed the infant, who was sleeping on a cot beside her mother. Imran, a daily wage laborer, stated that while he was sleeping with his three children, his wife was sleeping with their one-month-old daughter, Alisba, who was wrapped in a blanket when the police barged into their home at around 6 a.m. without any prior notice.
“When I was sleeping on the cot with my infant daughter, the policemen arrived all of a sudden, pulled me out, and sent me out of the room. They also pulled my husband out. They stepped on my infant daughter’s head and killed her,” said Razida Khan, the mother of the infant.

According to media reports, the raid was conducted as part of the ongoing campaign by the police to crack down on cybercrime. However, Imran Khan claimed that no cases had been registered against him so far, and he had not been involved in any fraudulent activities. Raghunathgarh village falls under the Naugaon police station area. The police team, led by head constables Girdhari and Jagveer, along with other constables, including Sunil, Rishi, and Shahid, conducted the raid at Imran Khan’s house.
When the police failed to address the family’s complaint, enraged villagers gathered outside the residence, demanding justice. They staged demonstrations to protest the alleged brutality. “This is murder, and I want justice,” Razida Khan, the mother of the deceased infant, told the media.
As the villagers’ protest gained media attention, the ASP later confirmed that an FIR had been registered against unnamed police officials, and Khan’s family was assured of action against those responsible. The raids were conducted as part of the ongoing police campaign related to a cybercrime case. However, no case had been filed against Imran Khan, and no FIR had been registered against him so far. Imran also alleged that the police had taken his mobile phone during the raid.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition, Tikaram Jully, condemned the killing and alleged that the police were “acting like terrorists.” He accused the police of torturing people by “forming gangs, arresting dozens of people, registering cases against only two or three, and releasing the rest after taking bribes.”
