Wanted By Gen Z: Pressure Mounts On Delhi Police Over Unidentified Men With Sticks In Plainclothes At Protest Site
New Delhi: Gen Z youth-led protesters at Jantar Mantar, organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), have shared posters showing pictures of men acting as police and security personnel during the July 20 march at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
With captions wanted by Gen Z, the posters showed people dressed like police with sticks, and without nameplates or any official badges beating and slapping the protesters during their march.

Prominent journalist Ravish Kumar has shared one such poster, seeking clarification from Delhi police on the issue. In a social media post, Ravish Kumar wrote, “Dear Delhi Police, have you found out anything about them? Otherwise, people might start showing up at protests dressed just like them—and even carrying lathis. You might end up thinking that only police personnel have arrived, not the general public. Such posters are circulating on social media.”
The CJP has also reacted to the development, noting that there are no information about the persons in civil dress yet. “Who the hell issued the license for this??” the CJP asked in its official X handle.
