Red Fort Blast Probe Recovers Video Of Dr Umar Un-Nabi Praising Suicide Attacks
Investigators probing the Red Fort car explosion have recovered a video of Dr Umar un-Nabi, the suicide bomber behind the November 10 attack, in which he is heard praising suicide missions and describing them as a form of “martyrdom.”
As per the reports, the clip, which has been circulating among security agencies over the past week, could provide crucial insight into the radicalisation of the 31-year-old doctor.
The one-minute, 20-second video, believed to have been recorded in April, shows Nabi sitting alone in a room and speaking in English about the “virtues” of suicide attacks.
According to the reports, the video was retrieved from a damaged mobile phone recovered from a water body near Nabi’s family home in Koil, Pulwama.
Investigators said that Nabi had handed the phone to his brother, Zahoor Ilahi, during a visit to Kashmir in September–October, instructing him to dispose of it if “anything ever happened.” After his detention, Zahoor reportedly revealed his location, allowing forensic teams to pull out the video and other data.

No agency has officially confirmed recovering the clip or commented on its authenticity, but multiple officials aware of the case said it is now being examined alongside other digital evidence.
They added that arrested members of what is being called a “white-collar” terror module will be questioned on why the video was made and whether it was meant for circulation.
The National Investigation Agency has already established that Dr Umar Nabi, a doctor from Faridabad’s Al Falah University, carried out the suicide bombing using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. DNA samples from the blast site matched those of his mother, confirming his identity.
According to various sources, Nabi was the “most radical” among the group of doctors believed to be involved in the network. Investigators are also trying to determine how many phones and SIM cards he used in the days leading up to the explosion.

So far, three doctors — Dr Muzammil Ganaie, Dr Shaheen Shahid, and Dr Adeel Rather- have been arrested, while searches continue for others, including Dr Nissar ul-Hassan. Another suspect, Dr Muzzaffar Rather, is believed to be in Afghanistan.
The Delhi Police Special Cell is examining whether the group attempted to replicate the 2019 Pulwama suicide attack, which was carried out by Adil Ahmed Dar using a car packed with explosives.
Former Jammu & Kashmir police chief SP Vaid said such videos are typically used as tools for radicalisation and propaganda, adding that the pattern is similar to Pulwama, where the bomber had also filmed a justification video.
