Spanish Biker Tourist Allegedly Gangraped In Jharkhand’s Dumka

A Spanish tourist on bike was allegedly gang raped in Jharkhand’s Dumka district on Friday night. The police have said that the horrific incident occurred late Friday night in the Hansdiha area of Dumka when the couple stopped their ride at a deserted area to spend the night at a makeshift tent, reports NDTV.

As per the information given by the victim, she claimed that about 8-10 people intercepted her and dragged her to a deserted place to commit the crime. The tourist couple was on their way from Bangladesh on the two-wheeler and were en route to Nepal via Bihar.

Talking to TOI, Dumka SP Pitamber Singh Kherwar said that they have detained three persons and further probe is on. Currently, the victim is undergoing treatment at the Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital in Dumka.

“At around 10:30 pm- 11:00 pm, the women stopped a police van which was on patrol van which was on patrol in the area for help. She had some bruise injuries too. The policeman took her to the hospital where she told doctors that she was raped. We are looking into the case”.

About the biker”s visit, the police said that they had no information regarding their camping. The couple are bikers who are touring places and keep camping at different locations from time to time on their journey. Police are collecting further details”, he said.

The victim also has taken it to her Instagram story, narrating the incident, she wrote, “Something has happened to us that we would not wish on anyone, seven men have raped me, they have beaten us and robbed us, although not many things, because what they wanted was to rape me. We are in the hospital with the police, it happened tonight here in India”.
