Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: A  32-year-old woman employee has died by suicide after uploading a video on her social media platform, alleging harassment and mental torture from her employer and colleagues. The woman named two individuals — Sharad Singh and Pallavi Joshi — holding them responsible for her death.

The victim, identified as Ratna, a resident of Gomti Nagar Extension in Lucknow made the video after informing one of her acquaintances and then took the extreme step. By the time the police arrived, Ratna had already died. Police saw the body of the woman hanging from the ceiling inside the room.

“Today I am going to commit suicide. Sharad Singh and Pallavi Joshi will be responsible for this. Sharad Singh mentally tortured me, and Pallavi Joshi drove me crazy,” the woman is heard saying in the video. The video shows the weeping woman explaining the mental torture she suffered and naming five in a total of five people, including the owner and colleagues.

Sudheer Awasthi, SHO, Gomti Nagar Extension police station said that those named by the woman in the video include her employer and colleagues and the police are investigating the matter before taking action. Sharad singh is the owner and MD of Verasat group in Lucknow.

Police said the woman’s family had been informed, and the body had been sent for post-mortem. A mobile phone recovered from the spot has been seized by police for investigation.
