The Chief Minister had yesterday declared the March towards the BJP headquarters against a series of AAP leaders” arrests. The declaration of the Operation Jhadu march followed the arrest of the AAP chief”s PA in Swati Maliwal assault case. However, the Delhi police has announced the imposition of Section 144, declaring that there is no permission for any kind of protest in the national capital.
The Delhi central DCP Harsha Vardhan Mandava announced that Section 144 has been imposed on DDU Marg, denying permission for any protest, and asked the protesters to disperse. The DCP explained that the road has offices of many political parties and important government installations and hence we have imposed Section 144. Notably, the AAP supremo has accused the BJP of trying to completely destroy his party.
Issuing a warning, Delhi Police asked protesters to refrain from approaching the gate due to the imposition of Section 144. “We are asking you not to come near the gate. Please listen carefully and do not violate the order. Otherwise, legal action will be taken against you,” he said.
Harsha Vardhan also said that the police have stopped protesters, and several AAP workers have also been taken into custody, as per the report.
The Delhi police have also made the announcement outside the AAP office, informing them that there is no permission for the protest, The Times of India reports.
The Chief Minister had yesterday announced that he, along with other AAP leaders, would march to the BJP headquarters in Delhi today, asking the Prime Minister to put them all in jail. The decision of the AAP leader came on the heels of that of his aide. Kejriwal listed a series of AAP leaders” arrests, asking why the BJP is coming after his party. Announcing the march, the AAP chief dared the Prime Minister to arrest all party leaders instead of detaining them one by one.
