New Delhi, December 9: The Indian Youth Congress on Monday launched the fifth edition of the ‘Young India Ke Bol’ forum. On this occasion, NSUI in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar and Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib launched a poster related to the platform.
Addressing a press conference Kumar and Chib said, the youth of the country will be able to speak out against unemployment and drug addiction through the platform. Youth can register for participation by downloading the “With IYC” app.
IYC President Chib said that unemployment and drug addiction are two major problems among the youth of the country today. “Against this, the Youth Congress has started a movement, which is called ‘Naukri Do, Nasha Nahin’”, he said, adding, “while the youth are not getting employment, a large number of them are trapped in drug addiction”.
Chib observed, it was the responsibility of the Modi government to stop the drug menace, but it does not pay attention to this at all. “Prime Minister Modi is fully focused on saving his friend Adani”, he remarked.
He said, through the ‘Young India Ke Bol’ campaign, the youth of the country can speak out against unemployment and drug addiction. “Through this, youth will get an equal opportunity and those who are good speakers will also be given a place in the organisation”, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Kanhaiya Kumar said that the Youth Congress has been doing various creative programs for awareness among the youth. He said, ‘Young India Ke Bol’ is a platform for youth across the country to voice their support to the movement against unemployment. “Today there is no employment for the youth in the country. The situation is that even IIT-IIM students are not getting employment”, he pointed out.
India, he said, is the youngest country in the world. “55 percent of the population is young, India was never so young; every fifth youth of the world is Indian”, he remarked, while adding, “despite such a young population of India, the reality is that two young people are committing suicide every hour. This rate is higher than the suicide rate of farmers”.
Kanhaiya Kumar said, the reason for this is that on the one hand, an educated youth does not have a job worth Rs 5,000, while Rs 5,000 crore are being spent on the marriage of another young man.
The senior Congress leader said that it is happening for the first time in human history today that a youth gets into debt even before getting a job. “He has to take an education loan, the recruitment exam is not conducted on time; even when it is conducted, the paper is leaked”, he pointed out, saying, a course which earlier used to cost Rs 5,000, today costs Rs five lakh and despite that, there is no guarantee of a job.
Kanhaiya Kumar appealed to the youth to join the campaign of Youth Congress, stating that only if the youth progress, the country will progress.
