
SBI To Recruit 18,000 Staff In FY 2025-26
The State Bank of India (SBI) plans to hire 18,000 staff members for the Fiscal Year 2025-26, the SBI Chairman, CS Setty, said, describing it the largest recruitment drive in a decade by the SBI. This reflects the banks’ commitment to expand their workforce amidst the technological advancements and digital transformation, Setty said.
The role-wise distribution with specific posts includes approximately 13,000 Customer Service Associates (CSAs), 3,000 Local Bank Officers (LBOs) or Probationary Officers (POs), and 1,600 System Officers (SOs). SBI is recruiting system officers after almost one decade, the chairman said.

SBI has reportedly reflected a significant investment in technology spending project to reach $50 billion in 2025.
The initiative aligns with broader trends in IT spending and workforce development as organizations are increasing investments in technology and employee training to address the growing technological demands and skill gaps, with SBI’s focus on hiring specialist officers indicating a strategic move towards a tech-driven banking model.
Recently, on June 24, 2025, SBI officially released the SBI PO 2025 recruitment notification, inviting applications for 541 Probationary Officers (PO) vacancies, including both regular and backlog positions. The deadline to apply online is July 7, 2025.
