Aditya Srivastava, a Lucknow native has topped the Civil Service Examinations of 2023 as per the results released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today.

Hailing from the Mawaiya area of Lucknow, Srivastava joined Aliganj’s City Montessori School where he finished his schooling. After pursuing B.Tech from the reputed IIT Kanpur, he worked for several private firms including a 15 month tenure with Goldman Sachs.

Srivastava began his preparations in October 2017. He was chosen for the Indian Police Service (IPS) in the 2022 UPSC CSE exams, ranking 216th that year. Belonging to the Bengal cadre, Srivastava is currently undergoing his IPS training. However, his dream of clearing the UPSC exams remained in his eyes.

Srivastava started preparing for the 2023 UPSC exams while continuing his IPS officer training. And after intense hard work, his efforts bore fruits.

In the results declared by the UPSC today, Aditya Srivastava topped the exams, achieving All India Rank 1.

A video of Srivastava and his friends celebrating the achievement is making the rounds in social media. In the heartwarming video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), Srivastava is being carried by his happy friends, cheering and celebrating the IAS topper. Netizens flooded the comment sections with messages congratulating Srivastava.

His sister is also currently working towards joining the civil services. Srivastava’s father is an AO in the Central Audit Department while his mother, Abha Srivastava, is a homemaker.
