Map Without Kashmir Triggers Case Against Meitra: Hospital Denies Link
Kozhikode, Kerala: A case was registered against Meitra Hospital on Wednesday in Kozhikode after a promotional video allegedly associated with the hospital displayed a map of India that excluded Jammu and Kashmir.
The video, reportedly aimed at spreading awareness about cancer treatment, featured the incorrect map—an omission that has now triggered legal action and public concern.

The Elathur police booked the case under Sections 152, 192, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a complaint filed by M.C. Shaji, a resident of Peruvayal.
The complaint alleges that the hospital management, doctor, and related staff attempted to damage the unity and integrity of the country and provoke unrest.
The controversial map appeared in a documentary-style video produced within the hospital, where women doctors and staff explained the hospital’s cancer care services. The map shown during the video did not include Jammu and Kashmir, prompting widespread backlash on social media and calls for accountability.

Meanwhile, the hospital issued a public clarification via their social media platforms stating: “It has come to our attention that a fake video is being circulated claiming to be related to Meitra Hospital. Meitra has no connection with this video. Please ignore this video and avoid sharing it.” They further urged viewers to scan a QR code to watch the official and authentic video issued by the hospital.
