Kerala has two Vande Bharat Express trains, both of which pass through the Tirur railway station. One Vande Bharat train originates from Thiruvananthapuram at 5:15 am and travels to Kasaragod.
The Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express (via Alappuzha), India”s first saffron-colored semi-high-speed train, was inaugurated on September 24, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference from New Delhi. The train departs from Kasaragod at 7 am in the morning and reaches Thiruvananthapuram in the afternoon.
The Vande Bharat Express trains are medium-distance train service operated by the Indian Railways, under the Ministry of Indian Railways. Similar to Shatabdi Express, these are day train services that connect Indian cities which are less than 10 hours apart.
