The outreach programme will be similar on the lines of Bharat Jodo Yatra which Rahul Gandhi undertook last year. This time, as per the proposal, Rahul Gandhi will cover a distance of 6,200 km during the 65-day march, spanning 14 states and 85 districts.
The states will be covered are Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Comparing to last time, Congress is planning the second edition of the march to be a hybrid yatra. The mode of the yatra is a bus journey, along with some short walks every now and then, K C Venugopal added. “This Bharat Nyay Yatra is going to be most historic yatra of this country,” Congress leader said.
With the aim of uniting India, Rahul Gandhi led the Bharat Jodo Yatra in last year. Started on September 7, after having travelled 4,000 km and went on for 136 days, it had concluded on January 30 in Srinagar. The long foot march has covered 12 states and two Union Territories.
