BJP's Smita Uday Wins From Jalgaon Lok Sabha Constituency

BJP candidate Smita Uday won from Jalgaon Lok Sabha constituency by securing 674,428 votes. She defeated the Shive Sena (UBT) candidate Karan Balasaheb with a vote margin of 251,594 votes.

Smita Uday Wagh, BJP candidate from the constituency is an elected member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council representing the saffron party. Wagh has served as the BJP women president before being elected to the state legislative council in 2015.

Shiv Sena (UBT) faction has fielded Karan Balasaheb Patil-Pawar as its candidate. When the 52-year-old was fielded in 2019 in Jalgaon, he created record by winning with the second highest votes in the state and the third highest victory margin.

The Jalgaon constituency has been a mixed bastion of Congress and BJP. Each party has bagged the constituency 8 times. It remained as a BJP bastion since 1999 Lok Sabha election.

The Mahayuti alliance has put in all efforts to woo the electorate with top leaders. BJP leader AT Nana Patil is the MP from here and he has been winning the constituency since 2009.

In the 2014 election, BJP’s Nana Patil won the election by securing 6,47,773 votes while the NCP candidate Satish Patil came in second with 2,64,248 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJPs Unmesh Patil won by securing 7,13,874 votes and NCPs Gulabrao Deokar came second with 3,02,257 votes.

The trend shows that the Maha Vikas Agadhi has toppled the exit poll results and is leading in the state sweeping majority of the seats.
