He's Back: Dalit Boy Who Said School Is Important (Not Temple) Goes Viral Again

Remember the 13-year-old Dalit boy who went viral for saying that he prefers to go to school rather than the temple during the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya? Well, he is back. The video clip of the child called Adarsh Raj is once again trending after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) endured a massive failure in Uttar Pradesh after Akhilesh Yadav (Samajwadi Party) and Rahul Gandhi (Congress) put an end to the dominance of the BJP in regards to the Lok Sabha election performance.

The viral video of the young boy from the Chamar (Dalit) community emphasised, “God is giving nothing, we can’t get an education without going to school.” Expressing his dissatisfaction with the PM Modi-led government and praising the development under the Mayawati administration in the state, he said, “Maybe I could learn something new if I went to school rather than wasting my time in temples.”

When asked about the thoughts of the locals on the Ram Mandir, the little boy observed, “Beggars will increase from the temple.” The IAS aspirant added, “I got education by going to school, and no God came to give me education. I prefer to respect my parents and teachers than go to the temple.”

Puffing his chest out, Adarsh said, “We are Chamar (Dalits). Babasaheb Ambedkar gave us the Constitution, rights, and reservations. Babasaheb gave us everything.”

From the heavy losses incurred by the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, perhaps the most symbolically important seat was the Faizabad constituency, which houses newly built Ram Mandir. Describing the construction of the Ram Mandir as a symbol of a new India “for the next thousand years of Bharat,” PM Modi, and the BJP leaders, had used the Ram Mandir as a major election campaign tool. Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad’s triumph over the BJP candidate and two-time MP Lallu Singh has been nothing short of an achievement for the INDIA alliance.

The cherry on top for the INDIA bloc? Prasad is a Dalit candidate for a general seat who was up against the former RSS worker who made headlines after he publicly made remarks advocating for changing the Constitution on the day of Ambedkar Jayanti. Singh was closely related to the Ram Temple movement and was also an accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case, although he was acquitted in 2020.

Congratulating the people of Uttar Pradesh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “The people of Uttar Pradesh, understanding the political need of the country, protected the Constitution. With your political wisdom, you have done the exceptional. I want to congratulate you.”

As per the EC data, the SP is leading with 37 seats won, followed by the BJP’s 33 seats, the Congress has 6 while the BJP ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has 2 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2019 elections, the In 2019, the BJP had bagged 62 seats from Uttar Pradesh.
