If You Are Not Scared Of China, Why Are You Sleeping Over Land Occupation: Kharge To Modi

Chittorgarh (Rajasthan), April 4: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today asked the Prime Minister that if he was so brave with “56 inches of chest” why was he sleeping over China having occupied the country”s land.

Addressing a massive public rally here today in support of the party candidate Udai Lal Anjana, Kharge alleged that Modi was fake and a liar who invented lie after lie. He said that Modi does nothing else other than abusing the Gandhi family and the Congress.

He wondered whether the Prime Minister had taken any sleeping pills or some opium, that made him fall asleep so deeply that he did not do anything about China occupying Indian territory.

The Congress president alleged that the Prime Minister was also misusing the official machinery and the government facilities for the electioneering. He observed, he (the PM) was free to use the donations he collected for elections, but why use government facilities.

He pointed out how the Prime Minister and his government was intimidating all the opposition parties and its leaders and forcing and luring them into joining the BJP. He said, as long as these leaders are with the opposition, the BJP calls them corrupt and the moment they join the BJP they become clean. He pointed out how 23 of the 25 leaders got reprieve from various cases after they joined the saffron party.

The Congress president accused the Prime Minister of stealing Rs 135 crores from the Congress accounts. He said the Income Tax department at the behest of the government had imposed a penalty of Rs 3,267 crores on the Congress party. If the same yardstick is used for the BJP, it will have to pay Rs 4,600 crore penalty.

But, he asserted, the Congress party and its leaders will not be intimidated or scared. He said, the Congress has got freedom for the country. “Our leaders went to jail and to the gallows and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country, while your ancestors took jobs with the British government”, he jibed the BJP leaders.

Lashing out at Modi for accusing the Congress of promoting a single family, he pointed out, how Ms Sonia Gandhi had declined the post of the Prime Minister and appointed a reputed economist to that position. He asked, after 1989 which member of the Gandhi family had occupied any office of the Prime Minister or a Minister. While as, he added, the Gandhi family has sacrificed lives to defend and safeguard the unity and integrity of the country.

The Congress president reiterated the “Panch Nyaay” (five types of justice) with 25 guarantees, which will touch and improve the lives of people across the country. These include justice for women, for youth, for farmers, for labourers and justice of participation and rightful share in the decision making process in the country.

Elaborating, he said, the Congress/INDIA government will carry out caste census to find out the distribution of resources and socio-economic status of people belonging to different castes.

Similarly, he added, thirty lakh job vacancies pending in various central government departments will be immediately filled. Besides, the youth immediately, after graduation will be offered one year apprenticeship/training with guaranteed Rs one lakh for one year. This will mean skill training besides regular income for them, he said, while pointing out, this will be the guaranteed job immediately after their graduation.

He said, one woman in every poor family across the country will get Rs one lakh every year.

For labourers, the minimum daily wage will be increased to Rs 400. Besides they will be provided health insurance cover.

For farmers, he said, there will be legal guarantee for the MSP and the government will also explore the possibilities of waiving off their debt.
