Prataprao Jadhav, Shiv Sena candidate won from the Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency by securing 349,867 votes. He won by defeating the Shiv Sena candidate Narendra Dagdu Khedekar with a vote margin of 29,479.

Eknath Shinde led-Shiv Sena’s candidate Pratap Ganpatrao Jadhav is the current sitting MP from the constituency. He has represented the seat three consecutive times starting in 2009, 2014 and 2019. Being elected thrice, he has served as a member of the Legislative assembly of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Member of the State Minister for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Irrigation in the Government of Maharashtra.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) faction has fielded Narendra Dagdu Khedekar as its candidate from the constituency.

With the Maratha community dominating the demography, MP Prataprao Jadhav from the Eknath Shinde-led Sena is banking on farmer leader Ravikant Tupkar, an independent candidate, splitting the anti-government votes with Narendra Khedekar from Shiv Sena (UBT).

The Buldhana district has religious significance due to the presence of the site of Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Shegaon.
