Tribal social worker Porlal Kharte is Indian National Congress” candidate from Madhya Pradesh Khargone constituency for the Lok Sabah election. It was only on last September Kharte joined Congress at the Tribal Congress Conference held at Bhopal. Poralal Kharte is a known social worker in the area. He has been at the vanguard of the fight for the constitutional rights of the tribals including education and health.
Kharte holds a considerable influence over the tribal parts of the region. Last December, he was felicitated for his 20 years of government service during an event held at the 23rd Lokotsav in Goa. Kharte had a humble beginning at the Mendlyapani village of Madhya Pradesh”s Barwani district. Despite having financial hardships, Kharte shined bright in achieving academic excellence and multifaceted talents. He worked as a labourer while studying to meet with the financial needs.
After cracking the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission examination, he was posted as the Commercial Tax Inspector. After serving the post for two decades, he opted for voluntary retirement to fulfill his passion for public service. After his retirement, Kharte started a transformative journey for the conservation of the nature, culture, constitution and democracy in 2013. He played pivotal role in establishing the significant organisations like Tribal Development Organisation, Tribal Students Organisation MP, Tribal Employees & Officers Organisation (MP), and Tribal Coordination Manch Bharat.
Congress place high hope in Porlal Kharte to win the seat. He is contesting against BJP”s Gajendra Umrao Singh Patel, who won the 2019 Lok Sabah election over a massive margin of 2,02,510 votes.
