The passenger disguised in dyed hair and a beard initially produced his identity in the form of a passport bearing the name Rashvinder Singh Sahota, 67. Finding his activities suspicious, CISF intercepted him in the check-in area of Terminal 3.
“His appearance, voice, and skin texture seemed of a younger man. Closer observation revealed that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to appear older,” CISF assistant inspector general Apoorv Pandey said.
During the investigation, the authorities found another copy of the passport on Guru Sewak’s mobile phone. When confronted with the original passport, Guru Sewak confessed to his real age and name and admitted that the passport in the name of Rashwinder was forged.
Further interrogation has uncovered a meticulously planned scheme. Sewak has revealed that he and his wife sought help from a travel agent named Jaggi. He has paid Rs 60 lakh for the journey. The plan involved flying the couple to Canada, from where they intended to enter the United States using the “Donkey Route”.
A payment of Rs 30 lakh has already been paid. The couple was then provided with forged travel documents to travel.
