PM Modi's Missing Tweet On Iran's Khamenei Death In US-Israel Attack

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted everybit of this foreign visit to Israel in the last few days. However, PM Modi has not reacted to the martyrdom of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the US-Israeli attack launched on February 28, 2026.

Iran and India have shared civilizational ties and have remained steadfast even in the US-led pressure of economic sanctions against Iran.

Western countries have supported the US-Israel attack on Iran; however, India did not stand on the same side and neither reacted to the recent strikes apart from securing its citizens living in the West Asian region.

As of March 2026, Israel has proposed a Hexagon Alliance, involving India, Greece, Cyprus, and other partners to counter what Israeli PM Netanyahu calls the radical Sunni and Shia axis. However, India has not joined a sectarian or an anti-Iran axis, maintaining its policy of strategic autonomy, despite closer Israel-India ties.
