Saudi Slams Israeli Knesset For Approving West Bank Annexation Bills
In a direct rejection of the Israeli Knesset’s (Parliament) move to impose Israeli sovereignty over the Occupied West Bank, and also condemning the legitimization of Israeli sovereignty over an illegal colonial settlement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued an official statement.
In its official statement, the Kingdom has rejected all Israeli settlements and expansionist policies violating the international statute by the Israeli occupation authorities. The Kingdom has also reiterated its support for the historical rights of Palestinians to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the international resolution.

Notably, the Israeli Knesset passed a bill in its preliminary reading on Wednesday, which applies the sovereignty of the State of Israel to the territories of Judea and Samaria (West Bank).
The Knesset statement said that 25 members supported the bill, introduced by Avi Maoz, leader of the far-right Noam Party; however, 24 lawmakers opposed it. The Knesset has a total of 120 members.
The bill still must pass three more readings to become a law. It will further go to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee for deliberations.
Reportedly, another bill, to annex the Ma’ale Adumim settlement bloc in the Occupied West Bank, has also been passed in the preliminary reading in the Knesset with 32 votes in favor and 9 against.
The bill came in the Knesset despite US President Donald Trump’s opposition, who ensured that he would not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.
