India’s Union minister for electronics and information technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar shared family information about Elon Musk. According to a post on X, the minister had a chance encounter with none other than Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, at the AI Safety Summit held at Bletchley Park, UK.
During the meeting, the CEO of X and Tesla revealed to Mr. Chandrasekhar that one of the twins born from his relationship with Shivon Zilis, director of operations and special projects at Neuralink in November 2021, had been given the middle name “Chandrasekhar.”
According to the minister”s post on X, the name “Chandrasekhar” was chosen in honor of Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, the Indian-American theoretical physicist who shared the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physics with William A. Fowler.
Chandrasekhar was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his “…theoretical studies of the physical processes important to the structure and evolution of stars”.

“That”s fascinating! Naming his son after the Nobel physicist Prof S. Chandrasekhar shows Elon Musk”s admiration for great scientific minds. It must have been an incredible experience meeting him at the #AISafetySummit,” an X user commented on the post by the minister.
In Neuralink, an American neurotechnology company that is developing implantable brain–computer interfaces founded by Elon Musk, Ms Zilis reports to Musk himself. According to reports, Ms Zilis had met the tech entrepreneur through her non-profit work at OpenAI, of which she was a board member until 2023, and she had also worked as a project director in Musk’s Tesla.
A Texas court document had revealed in 2022 that the twins, a son named Strider and a daughter named Azure, were born in 2021.
