A shocking video of a sick leopard being harassed by people around it has come up online. The leopard can be seen surrounded by many people, with one man in red pants trying to ride it.

A sick leopard wandered into Madhya Pradesh’s Iklera village. Initially, some villagers were scared but then they saw that the leopard was not aggressive but weary and understood that it was unwell.

The people of the village then gathered around the sick leopard and began playing with it, with some people taking selfies, some people petting it and a person trying to ride the leopard.

The forest department was informed of the leopard by a villager and a rescue team came in from Ujjain to Iklera to take the leopard to a safe place.

The two-year old leopard was taken to Van Vihar in Bhopal for treatment. A vetenary doctor has attended to the sick leopard, forest officer Santosh Shukla said. He added that, “the condition of the leopard was critical. Despite this people were troubling him. We removed the villagers from there. After this, the veterinary doctor was called from Mhow in Indore.”

This strange video has become viral on social media. One person commented that “we are already encroaching on their space under the guise of development, and now we are also troubling their privacy. We should be ashamed of ourselves as humans”. The video is available on You Tube and Twitter.

Forest guard Jitendra Chauhan said the sick leopard was wandering in the forest in a dizzy condition and was unable to even walk properly. He also told that the leopard is at Van Vihar, being treated there and is expected to make a full recovery.
