Viral Video: Look Only for A Good Boss in Your First Job, Jack Ma's Advice to College Graduates

“For your first job, look for a good boss and stay with them for three years”, said the advice video of Chinese business man Jack Ma which went viral on X (formerly Twitter), on Wednesday. In the video, Mr Ma is seen advising young college graduates on their first job.

Jack Ma is the co-founder of Alibaba Group, a multinational technology conglomerate. He is famous as as business man, and also as an investor, and philanthropist.

“So if I were giving advice to young people, when you graduate from somewhere and you are looking for a job, the first job is the most important”, he said.

In case of the first job, it is not necessary to have a “company [or organization] that has a great name”, he added.

According to Mr Ma, the most important thing is to find a good boss. They “can teach you how to be a human being, how to do things right, how to do things properly”.

“Stay there [the first company], give yourself a promise : I will stay there for at least 3 years. Then you start to move, he said.

Otherwise, you will meet “a lot of people. That”s no good. I”ve seen a lot of disasters. A lot of problems. So stick to one”, he added.

Ma is also the co-founder of the Chinese private equity firm Yunfeng Capital.
