Brahmani Nara is the daughter-in-law of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and wife of Nara Lokesh, TDP General Secretary and Minister. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the family-owned company, Heritage Foods. She is also a Trustee of the NTR Memorial Trust and Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute.

Politics is not an unfamiliar territory for Brahmani Nara; neither being in spotlight. She is the elder daughter of actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna. In the recently concluded Assembly elections, Balakrishna got elected as MLA for a third term, increasing her joy three-fold.

Lokesh married Brahmani, who is also his first cousin, in 2007. The couple have a son, Nara Devaansh.

Brahmani Nara holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Stanford University, and Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University, California, USA and Communication Engineering from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. She worked as an Investment Associate in Vertex Ventures, Singapore. In 2011, Brahmani joined Heritage Foods as Vice President (Business Development) and now exercises the role of Executive Director. She handles pivotal functions including design, development and implementation of strategic plans for the company.

Brahmani appears in public every now and then. During election time, she is seen actively participating in campaigns seeking votes for her husband. Brahmani campaigned in the Mangalagiri constituency where Nara Lokesh contested. In 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Lokesh lost to YSRC’s Alla Ramakrishna Reddy by a narrow margin of 5,000 votes. Even after succumbing defeat, Lokesh was particular to contest from the same constituency and in the election, he won with a huge margin of 90,160 votes.

Nara Brahmani, participating in the campaign trails, communicated his husband’s vision for development in the region. She also talked to women about the programmes undertook by Lokesh in the constituency for advancement of women. Besides, during her visit to villages, she met women and enquired about their problems.

In the meeting with the weavers community, Brahmani effectively conveyed TDP’s commitment to women’s empowerment. To lure women voters, she interacted members of Stree Shakti, Mahila Mitra and DWCRA groups. The businesswoman detailed the women that TDP’s Super-Six promises aimed at the emancipation of women.

As Lokesh took oath as a minister, Nara Brahmani extended her wish to her husband. On social media platform X, she wrote: “It was a proud and emotional moment for me as Nara Lokesh took oath as a Minister today. As you embark on this journey to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh with renewed zeal, I wish you all the best.”
