Alyssa Healy Rates Virat Kohli At No.4 In Fab-Four List

Australia captain Alyssa Healy has rated former India captain Virat Kohli at No.4 in the fab-four list.

There are multiple views on the best batter in Test cricket, with Kohli, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, and Steve Smith, among the top of the list, making it a fab-four. And Healy has rated Kohli lowly in the list going by statistics.

“I’m going to put Kohli as fourth. But I rate him as No. 1 in everything else. But if you’re basing it on numbers, Kohli will sit fourth for me. I’m looking at it analytically,” Healy said speaking on the LiSTNR Sport podcast.

“I think about how much cricket he plays and that’s where I look at his stats. And they are remarkable based on the sheer amount of cricket he plays and the pressure he is under,” she added.

Kohli, incidentally, has the lowest average among the fab-four in the longest format. He is the only player to average less than 50 — 49.15 — while his numbers in the limited-overs are better than his other three counter-parts.

Healy further pointed out that Kohli has a lot of support from his teammates who can score adequately in the longest format while New Zealand largely depends upon Williamson to carry the team.

“Williamson has carried the whole New Zealand team, whereas, for Virat, he is the greatest player in the world, let’s be real. But with him, it’s like someone else is always there. Rohit Sharma can score hundreds. KL Rahul can score a 100.”
