'Check DM': Cricket Enthusiasts Apply For Team India Head Coach Role; Troll BCCI For Using Google Forms

Cricket enthusiasts in large numbers applied for the position of Team India head coach after the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) invited applications earlier this week.

Interestingly, the BCCI opened the process of registration for the Team India head coach role via Google Forms, which was also heavily trolled by the fans.

“The BCCI on Monday invited applications for the position of Head Coach of the Senior Men’s Team. Applications for the position should be submitted by 6PM IST on May 27, 2024 in the link here,” the BCCI said in a statement.

“The selection process will include a thorough review of applications, followed by personal interviews and assessments of shortlisted candidates,” the statement added.

Following their post on X, a fan asked, “Sir, can I apply for the head coach position? I hold the record for winning 15 matches in a row in my locality.”

“Submitted my application form ✅ Hopefully under my expert coaching and guidance, India lifts the 2027 World Cup in South Africa,” while the other said.

“BCCI using google form 🤦🏻‍♂️😂,” a third fan commented.

“Have registered. Can”t wait to coach my team,” another fan said.

It is reported that the BCCI are looking at Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming and Tom Moody as the overseas head coach option.

Meanwhile, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman and former India head coach Anil Kumble remain the top options for the role.

The last day for registration of the process was May 27 but the BCCI has already closed the process.
