Damaging Defeat: Al Nassr Thrashes Inter Miami 6-0

The much-anticipated match between the MLS club Inter Miami and Al Nassr, a Saudi pro-league club, ended with a massive blow. Messi’s team had to concede six goals on Thursday night match. Inter Miami was beaten 6-0 by Al Nassr.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for the day since the schedule of the fixture was announced. But unfortunately, Ronaldo was not featured in the match. Fans were waiting for the clash of the GOATs of the football world.

The Portuguese icon was left due to a recent injury. But Thursday’s match was simply a case of ‘no Ronaldo, no problem’ for Al-Nassr. The Saudi club hit the front foot straight with Otavio opening in the 3rd minute. Seven minutes later, hat-trick hero Talisca claimed his first goal of the night. Adding to the misery of the American team, central-back Aymeric Laporte further extended the lead to make it 3-0 only after 12 minutes.

The rhythm of the game remained unchanged even after the first half. Talisca got his second from the penalty spot minutes after half-time and Mohammed Maran”s header in the 68th minute of the match left Gerardo Matino’s side with no turning back.

Talisca completed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute. Initially, though the goal was declared offside, the VAR check confirmed the goal.

Argentinian star Messi came off the bench later in the match but was unable to save his team from the damaging defeat. With the Friday night win, the Saudi giant has gone to the top of the Riyadh Season Cup table.

Inter Miami will be in action on Sunday against Hong Kong XI in Hong Kong. Al-Nassr will take on Al-Hilal on February 8 in yet another club-friendly game before they set off for AFC Champions League knockouts.

Messi’s Inter Miami team has been in Saudi Arabia for a few days now. In Monday’s match, Argentina’s teammate Luiz Suarez bagged his maiden goal for the club while Messi scored in a 4-3 defeat against Al Hilal.
