Erling Haaland’s Viral Post: “No Children Deserve To Die”

Norwegian professional footballer Erling Haaland’s recent social media post is now viral as Mr Haaland called for peace amid the ongoing Israel-Palestine war. He voiced his deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions of the war-torn area and requested at least to spare the children. “No innocent children deserve to die”, he said sharing a picture of himself walking down the ground with two children holding each of his hands.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 11,000 people have been killed in Gaza alone in air and artillery strikes by the Israel defence force since October 7. Heartbreakingly, the count includes more than 4,000 children and around 3,000 women. Gaza’s main hospital – Al Shifa – has already ran out of fuel, leading to the death of a premature baby, another child in an incubator, and four other patients.

The post reportedly emerged amidst the Norwegian striker’s remarkable achievement in the English Premier League, where Mr Haaland is currently the leading goal scorer. Erling Braut Haaland is a striker who plays for Premier League club Manchester City and the Norway national team. He is considered as one of the best players on the world and is known for his speed, strength, positioning, and finishing inside the box.

He broke the record for the most goals scored by a player in a single season in the Premier League, with 36, that too on his debut. He received the 2020 Golden Boy award and was named Bundesliga Player of the Season in 2021. He was included in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 for both 2021 and 2022.

Mr Haaland is a record-breaker all time – as he broke multiple Premier League records, including most goals scored in a season, the quickest individual to score two, three, four and five hat-tricks, and the first in league history to score hat-tricks in three consecutive home games. It was in 2023, he secured the Premier League Golden Boot, the European Golden Shoe and the Gerd Müller Trophy for his goalscoring success.
